The NHS protects patient safety during Covid-19

The NHS has warned coughing up to three weeks or more while being tested negative for Covid-19, could be a sign of lung cancer.

Many have been reluctant to visit their GP or healthcare practices due to the Covid-19 risks. However, the NHS has increased patient safety to ensure patients receive their cancer diagnosis while steering clear from contracting the virus or any contagious illnesses.

Lung cancer symptoms can easily be mistaken for other illnesses, however, refraining to get help at an early stage can cause greater harm in the long term.

Anyone experiencing the following symptoms should immediately visit their GP.

•  Check your Signs & Symptoms for Lung Cancer

•    Chest infections that keep coming back

•    Coughing up blood

•    A long-standing cough that gets worse

•    An ache or pain when breathing or coughing

•    Persistent breathlessness

•    Persistent tiredness or lack of energy

•    Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss
